The Northwest Center relies in large part on the generous material donations we receive from individuals and organizations in our community.
We ask that all items are new or gently used and in good condition. Clothing items should be washed prior to donating. Please call or email to schedule a drop off date and time (202-483-2857 or susan@northwestcenter.net). We are happy to provide you with a donation receipt.
The Northwest Center accepts the following items as material donations:
- Baby clothing (preemie through– 3T)
- Maternity clothing – new or gently used (this includes nursing bras)
- Diapers
- Wipes
- Formula (Similac Advance is the most commonly used brand by families we serve)
- Strollers
- Unopened toiletries
- Blankets
- Car seats (manufactured within the last 6 years which have never been in a car accident)
- Bottles, pacifiers, teething toys
- Baby food
- Baby cutlery & sippy cups
- Baby carriers
- Boppy pillows
- Baby swings, rockers, bouncy chairs
- Infant bathtubs
- Toys (for babies and children through age 2)
- Children’s books
- High chairs
- Pack n Plays & cribs (no drop side)
- Bassinets
- New Breast pumps
- Baby monitors
- Bottle warmers
- Other miscellaneous baby items
The Northwest Center does not accept the following items:
- Nap Nanny pillows
- Sleep positioners
- Walkers with wheels
- Drop-side cribs
- Crib bumper pads
- Other items that have been recalled
- Used underwear
- Stuffed animals
- Used Breast Pumps
